2020 Quarantine: Day 10
So I’ve been home for the past 10 days, isolating myself from the rest of the world, with the rest of the world. It’s been such a weird week. Stephen’s been home from work to make sure that I’m not gonna get sick from his interactions with this co-workers because of my compromised immune system. So we’ve had an unexpected “stay-cation” for the past week. It’s been a mix of so many emotions and feelings, but overall trying to stay positive while we continue to figure out how to navigate our new normal. Everyone around us is going through something similar, so we’re not alone in this feeling of uncertainty.
During this time though, I’ve been watching a lot of random movies because we’ve been having movie nights almost every night this week. And while watching these movies, I’ve realized that I have a top 10 list of movies that are my favorites (yeah we all do) but the thing is, this list is subconscious. It isn’t until I'm watching a movie from that list that I realize, if I had to watch only a handful of movies forever, this would be on the list.
That being said, I do have a couple of lists I’d categorize my favorites into:
Current Faves - movies I’ve seen recently and enjoyed
Deserted Island Picks - movies I can watch over and over again and not get tired of (better known as deserted island picks
The Classics - movies that I think are so good that my children will watch them and my children’s children and so on
Unpopular Faves - movies that most other people aren’t a fan of but for whatever reason I love
Now, my lists can definitely have overlap but they all have distinct qualities that put them on said list. I’m totally ok with movies I consider “classics” to not be on my deserted island list, there are some movies that are good when you watch them once in a while, for nostalgic reasons. And there are some movies that can be in all three categories.
With that, I’ve decided to write down this list for future reference. And I figured I’d share it with all of you as well. Currently this list isn’t ranked in any particular order, other than the fact that I’ve just watched it and realized it goes on this list. So here we go…
KADIE’S forgotten/subconscious TOP MOVIES:
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Sherlock Holmes
Alright, I get it. The list is short (for now). So what’s the point of this post? Welp, there isn’t one. I just wanted to share my thoughts with the world and have it documented for my own personal reference. Enjoy!
Good luck with the quarantine, friend. Until next time.
