Michael's Engaged!

Last year my family and I went on a vacation to Ireland and England. It was on this trip that we first heard my brother mention a girl he was seeing. He was so nervous about what to say to her and what would come from them chatting. It was really cute to see and I had never seen my brother so interested in what a girl thought.

Then last September we went out to Chicago for Labor Day weekend to hang out with the family. It was that weekend that we finally got to meet her. When we met Cansen all I could think was “she’s beautiful and fun and friendly! I love this girl!” I was so nervous about meeting her and making sure we pronounced her name right. She was such a gem. I couldn’t have been happier for my brother. He was glowing when he was with her. The following day while out with family I couldn’t stop talking about how amazing his new girlfriend was.

Then Thanksgiving happened and we all had the chance to hang out again. Each time I saw Michael with Cansen he seemed so at home. I noticed how she brought out the best in my brother and I couldn’t be happier about it.

So as time went on Mike kept on asking questions like “how do you know you’re ready to get married” or making statements like “she’s it, she’s the one” and eventually told me that he bought a ring.

I’m ecstatic! My little brother is going to get married!

And he proposed in the sweetest way possible. He took her to one of her favorite architect’s (Frank Lloyd Wright) home and scheduled a tour for them to go on, but once they got there he took her to the front of the house, handed her a note, and got down on one knee. Thankfully he also had a photographer there to take photos of them! Just look at how cute they are!
